Maybe you’re wondering if your relationship can be saved.

Relationships can be hard (even the healthiest ones!). And over time, it's easy to fall into the same routine of being together that leaves both partners feeling unheard, misunderstood, or like they're speaking completely different languages. If you've found yourselves having the same conversations over and over again with little to no progress, it doesn't necessarily mean your relationship is beyond repair. It could be a signal that it's time for a new way of communicating with each other.

 A different conversation starts here.

What is the gottman method?

The Gottman Method is one of the most researched and trusted approaches to couples therapy, built on decades of studying what helps relationships succeed—not just simply survive. Rather than leaning into the temptation to argue over who's right or wrong, it helps couples understand the patterns that keep them feeling disconnected and teaches practical skills to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen friendship.

In our work together, this can look like: navigating conflict more effectively, repairing hurt before resentment builds, and creating a relationship where both of you feel seen, supported, and understood. We’re not shooting for unrealistic perfection, but a healthier, more connected, and fulfilling relationship for both of you.

What the work looks like

Using the Gottman Method doesn’t mean we’re going to be memorizing communication techniques or trying to become the "perfect" couple. The deeper movement and momentum at play here is looking at why the same patterns keep showing up, learning practical ways to interrupt them, and creating new experiences together.

  1. Slow things down.

One of the first things we'll do is take a closer look at the conversations that seem to go off the rails. This can help us identify where any type of criticism, defensiveness, shutdown, or emotional overwhelm begins creeping in—not to point fingers or assign blame, but to better understand the dynamic happening between the two of you. Once you can recognize the pattern, you have the power to change it.

  1. Practice something different.

In order to make a real difference in your marriage, there has to be action. During our sessions, we'll practice having the conversations you've been avoiding, learn how to repair misunderstandings before they grow into resentment, and build new habits that feel more natural. Sometimes that means I'll pause the conversation, offer a different way to phrase something, or help you better understand what your partner is actually trying to say.

  1. Get curious.

Most couples think they're arguing about the dishes, the kids, the schedule, or how money is being spent. (And sometimes they are!) But more often than not, those are just the surface-level conversations. Underneath are usually deeper needs—the desire to feel appreciated, supported, understood, respected, or like you're truly in this together.

Instead of staying stuck on what you're arguing about, we'll try to discover why it matters so much in the first place. This is where understanding grows, and where real change begins.

  1. Rebuild what matters.

Conflict is a normal and inevitable part of relationships, and the strongest marriages don’t avoid or dismiss it. They’ve learned how to move through it together, while continuing to build their friendship, trust, and admiration of one another.

As we learn how to navigate conflict in a better, healthier way, we'll also intentionally strengthen the parts of your relationship that often get lost in the busyness of everyday life: appreciation, affection, laughter, shared goals, and simply enjoying each other's company again.
